Generosity and Compassion

  Generosity and compassion are the two structures of life that hold it together.  They are the underpinning of all good things.  Without them our lives have no vitality;  they are merely shadows, sick, empty and one-dimensional.

  Generosity is not just the act or mental attitude of giving, it is also a way of living that creates abundance for everyone else.  Generosity is life-giving.

  Compassion, however, is life-making.   It is a transformational state of consciousness that gives new life to all living beings who consider themselves defeated by the events of their lives.

  Compassion is the foundation and identity of humanity.  By showing compassion as best we can, we become more evolved and more integrated.  This creates an enduring wisdom, the nature of which is generosity of spirit.  This in turn becomes happiness.

Feeling Overwhelmed

Hi friends  ~  The ups and downs of this Ascension Process, or as I like to call it - Earth's and Humanity's Awakening Process  -  is still affecting many.   One day we can be feeling quite stable within, "Yeah! got it all together.....at last, " type of feeling, then the next day we can be highly emotional and shedding some tears.   There are some things we can adopt into our daily routine, no matter how emotional we may feel, that can perhaps lessen the impact of "those" days.

One way is not to take on anymore than you can handle.  I will share some excerpts from The Tibetan Art of Serenity from the chapter - Feeling Overwhelmed -

" We can spend ten minutes at the start of our day by determining what our priorities are and then focusing on them throughout our day.  Don't let yourself be pulled towards anything  -  from business meetings to casual conversations  -  that feels time wasting.  Instead, make space in your day for the things that are important to you: from projects, to exercise, to family time.  Hold these times as sacred."
Absolutely !   It's so easy to be pulled into another project thinking we have plenty of energy, only to find out after getting halfway through it that we don't have the strength to take care of the most important assets in our life, like our kids and their needs re school, etc.  And also don't forget the needs of pets -  dogs tend to get bored and destructive if not given their exercise!   I have found out.........

" Revolutionize the way in which you communicate  -  Learn to speak from your heart.  By this I mean don't talk about what is wrong but concentrate instead on what is right.  Don't complain, belittle others or predict disaster.  Instead, use your speech to praise, appreciate and be optimistic.  Let your speech be a starting point of harmony and a tool to disentangle the confusion that creates the state of being overwhelmed.
" Change the way you work  -  Does your work contain the passion of your self?  If not, reclaim your life.  If your work is making you sick, bitter or no longer reflects the way you are, release it, for it is a contagious disease, which will be affecting the whole of your life.  Choose instead to find work that supports who you are and your dreams, hopes and abilities.  Too often we are hostage to work, believing that we must do jobs we hate in order to earn money.  Have the courage to leave behind this way of thinking and the support you need will come to you. "

I have to agree with this, but not only in work issues.  In everyday life, in general, we need to adopt a transformative way of assessing HOW we think as life on earth contains much higher spiritual energy than ever before.   I have found that the old way of doing, thinking and being on earth is changing rapidly to suit our higher personal frequencies.   We are gradually aligning with the Universal Flow which puts us in situations that are compatible with our personal frequency.   What this does is we ALLOW ourselves to be living in the consciousness of the Now which means our whole focus in any moment is on what we are doing in that moment.  We are aware of our physical movements and the task at hand.  When our minds are not overtaking our lives and stealing energy from us, we have crystal clear focus and a much higher energy to do the task at hand.

The Universal Flow is the way of living in the future when we all are living in that higher dimension on Earth.  I do not believe in predictions of time and dates of when this will occur as the breaking down of the old 3D way of life is in process and the awakening of humanity IS happening, but I feel we have a long way to go.  When we do, life takes on a very different, lighter feel.  For one thing, we are less dense.  Gone are the cumbersome days of heaviness.   Life flows beautifully in this higher dimension and we live as One with the Universal Flow.   We know instinctively where to go and what to do as though it is a part of us, which it is!   And this will be the way of following our individual energy flow to have the things that we need in life;  flowing along with the energies of Source which contains everything anyone, including the animals, will need for survival.

Back to sharing from the book:  " Create calm  -  To find a sense of inner calm, take five minutes a day to practise paying attention to just one thing.  This may be anything - your breathing, a flower, an object, anything you wish.  It doesn't matter what it is, what matters is that you observe the divine within it. Like the muscles in our bodies, the brain becomes stronger as we train it.  And this focusing exercise trains the brain to recognize and accept calm.  The calmer you are, the less overwhelmed you become, for from calmness comes the path to serenity.  Focusing on just one thing starts to awaken your inner consciousness and allows you to recognize that the ability to meditate is naturally within you and not something you have to acquire or do.   Single-pointed focus stabs fear to the core, while drawing out serenity within you to the point where it spills like a flood out into your everyday mind, imbuing all things with wellbeing. "

That is the end of that chapter from  -  The Tibetan Art of Serenity  -  by Christopher Hansard.

PEACE and EQUANIMITY

In order for the subtle spiritual qualities of peace, expansion, light and love to be experienced, the mind must be stilled from the agitations of the outer world.  While spiritual energy is purified and intensified by moral practices, body postures and breath control exercises help align the energies which sustain us and prepare the inner dimension for higher spiritual visions.

The focus of attention must be brought inward, away from the coarse agitating energies of the outer world and into the vast, peaceful and subtler spiritual realm where one can glimpse a personal vision of the miracle of existence.  If consciousness is allowed to dwell in contemplation here, a new sense of equanimity and oneness intensifies the yearning for merging with the divine.  The inner experience of divinity allows for a vision of holiness in the outer world as well.  As this process deepens, the yearning becomes so intense that one finally bursts all limitations.  The small "individual" self merges in supreme triumph and transcendence into the oneness of divinity.

Ever Free

                                    "Let us thus free our mind from the fetters of the physical,
                                     and realize in silence, in solitude of unbroken meditation,
                                      that this indwelling Spirit is pure, spotless, untainted by
                                                          sin and sorrow, and ever free. "

LOVE and THOUGHT

Namaste Dear Friends  ~
               This is taken from one of my favourite books  -  The Tibetan Art of Serenity
               by Christopher Hansard who is a practicing Tibetan Bon Medical Practitioner
               and is Director of Clinical Affairs at the Eden Medical Centre, London.

                                                  *~*   LOVE  and  THOUGHT   *~*

In the state of love your thoughts take on new power and influence, so it is important to be careful what you think.  See it this way, your thoughts manifest as words, your words turn to deeds, and often the deed becomes a habit that becomes attached to your character and personality.  If the thought, deed and habit is self-defeating or unskilful, then the energy of love within you becomes trapped and the spark of love is lost.  So be skilful with your thoughts and how you express them.  By this I mean be considerate, and let love permeate and flow through all that you do and say.   Let your thoughts, speech and actions be born out of love;  for yourself, love for that special person, and for all beings.

Love is the prime energy.  To have love constantly in your life, let yourself find courage in good thoughts, actions and deeds.  Love is not static, unmoving, it constantly reinvents itself, renewing itself, delighting in itw own energy.  When you can accept this into your consciousness, you will know that love is a gesture from your higher self.

To love is to be given a foretaste of rapture.  A rapture that lives, right now, inside you.  Face the rapture and gaze into its brilliance.

                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I would like to add here a quote from Paramahansa Yogananda's Healing Meditations  ~
    "  Step by step, we shall learn that all our ventures are futile until our mind is washed and cleansed
       and purified through the Meditation of Love  -  love which knows no hate, love which transcends
       all human imperfection, love which enkindles all the noble and lofty aspirations in our soul.
       It is through such love we overcome our human limitations and find true bliss and peace. "
Find the Highest Form of Happiness
I found this great little blog by Debra Moffitt which describes exactly what most, I think, are aiming for in life.  It's certainly a great place to BE in, and a place I reside in after a very long inner-journey with many life experiences.   This is about REAL contentment within, not just a transient feeling of being at peace.
The highest form of happiness is contentment. Our media and our consumer society often play on discontent. They show us images of what life could be if we were something better or if we only had something more. But contentment is about being in the moment and being present with one’s Self and with the divine. God is everything already. When we connect with our divine nature, we are connected to the wholeness beyond fears, desires and the ups and downs of happiness and despair. As a practice, just for today, when the feelings of discontent begin to rise and the mind seeks out all that is wrong and could be changed for the better, find the contentment. This doesn’t mean to be satisfied and no longer put any efforts into growing and becoming a better person. It means finding a place of rest and not striving – just for a moment, just for today when the search for happiness starts to drive you to feel frustrated and angry, look at the good things around. Try on the phrase, “I am content.”
When I lived in Switzerland, I recall often sitting at the kitchen table alone in the morning contemplating happiness. “Am I happy?” I wondered. I didn’t feel anything close to ecstasy. Nor did I feel despair. I felt lonely, but I had all I needed at the moment. A friend gave me some cards and one of them held these wonderful words of wisdom by Sathya Sai Baba, “Contentment is the highest form of happiness.” That card sat on my table and I realized, “I am content. I can do and be content.” Over the years as the loneliness and the trials endured, I often recalled those words and reminded myself. “Yes, there are good things here. I may not be happy in the form that I see in those commercials with people smiling ecstatically over a new pair of sunglasses or a new mate, but I am content.”
I like to explore the meaning of words to help me understand: content is defined as “satisfaction with what one is or has; not wanting more or anything else” and contentment is “ease of mind.” Though I’ve done this practice for long periods, I have to keep coming back to it and reminding myself again and again. “I am content.” I may not be happy in the sense of the American TV commercial vision of happiness, but right now, I have what I need and my mind is at ease. “I am content.”
Today try this practice: Focus on contentment. Be content with what you have and where you are. Check in with your feelings first thing and throughout the day. Can you find your sense of contentment?
Welcome Friends
What a lovely surprise !    A big warm welcome to You dear Tom and to You dear Nithya.
So happy to see you here.   I have been blogging on Humanity Healing now for a few months where the atmosphere is always loving with no disharmony whatsoever.  Being a Ning website, in the Groups we can hold discussions and share and learn off each other......it's wonderful !
There is also grieving and shock still at Ann's sudden death, so everyone is gathering together on the blog site to share their love and stories of Ann and to celebrate her earth life and her great love for everyone and the work she did on the website, almost since its beginning.
The blogs I post there I also post here, so that is why I dropped in at this time.
I would like to share a letter, handwritten by Sathya Sai Baba, to Samuel Sandweiss MD, which is printed in Sandweiss' book, SPIRIT and the MIND.   The letter dates 30-8-75
" After long searches here and there, in temples and in churches, in earth and in heavens, at last you
  come back.   Completing the circle from where you started, to your own soul and find that He, for
  whom you have been seeking all over the world, for whom you have been weeping and praying in
  churches and temples, on whom you were looking as the mystery of all mysteries shrouded in the
  clouds in the nearest of the near, is your own self, the reality of your life, body and soul.
  That is your own nature.  Assert it, manifest it.  It is Truth and Truth alone, that is one's real friend,
  relative.  Abide by Truth - tread the path of righteousness and not an hair of your body will ever be
  injured.     Meditation is nothing else but rising above desires.   Renunciation is the power of
  battling against evil forces and holding the mind in check. "
                                                     With Love and Blessings,
                                                                   Sri Sathya Sai Baba
I just love seeing His written word......
have a wonderful, enlightening day, much love Tara *~*
